As we continue our Christmas Stories Series, exploring Lessons from the Birth of Jesus, we’re reminded of the power of belief. In Luke 1:45, Elizabeth’s statement “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” highlights the importance of trust and faith in our relationship with God.

But what does it mean to truly believe? Is it just a mental assent or a deep-seated trust? Elizabeth’s belief was rooted in her personal experience with God, who had fulfilled his promise to her and her husband Zachariah despite physical circumstances that seemed impossible.

In John 11:25, Jesus reminds us that even in the face of death and despair, our belief in Him can bring life and resurrection. What has died in your life? Is it hope, a business, a ministry, or a relationship? Jesus says, “If you believe in me, whatever has died shall live.”

As we approach the new year, 2025, we’re expectant and praying for great things. But we must remember that our belief is not just about acknowledging God’s existence, but about relying on Him for direction and counsel. Do you put God’s word above all else? Do you trust in His promises and character?

Take time to reflect on your beliefs and ask yourself:

  • What evidence do I have of God’s faithfulness in my life?
  • Do I truly rely on God for direction and counsel?
  • Have I experienced God’s presence and power in my life?

As we celebrate this season, remember that Belief is Key. Create your 2025 based on the integrity and infallibility of God’s word, His character, and how He has shown up for you before.
