30-day Challenge – Woman of Substance International https://iamawomanofsubstance.org Thu, 15 Apr 2021 22:27:39 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 Day 13 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-13/ Tue, 13 Apr 2021 22:26:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=143 Exactly what does Abundant life mean to YOU? You need to write it down and that will be our prayer focus tonight.

Jesus while on earth used different approaches while solving people’s problems. In some instances He commanded, at other times He rebuked while at some instances He asked what people wanted:

“When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi, ” the blind man said, “I want to see!””

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:49-51‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Several other Bible characters also expressed what they considered to be their abundant life. Meditate on the following:

Abraham- Genesis:2-6
Moses – Exodus 33:15
Jabez – 1Chronicles 4:10
Paul- Phillipians 3:10
JESUS- John 6:32-44

Paul gave believers many suggestions on what abundant life could mean: Ephesians 5:15-20; 1Thessalonians 5:23

*When a vision or a thought is written down, the likelihood of forgetting it is slimmer. Therefore, thoughtfully write down your personal definition of Abundant life and start to focus on it as you continue with this challenge.

Day 12 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-12/ Mon, 12 Apr 2021 22:25:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=141 Today we want to demolish the spirit of GREED. Greed is a spiritual disease of the heart affecting all areas of a person’s life; an “intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power or food.” 1 Timothy 6:10

Money, fame, food, attention and all the things that greed chases after are not evil in and of themselves. God promised to give us richly all things to enjoy and Jesus said He came to give us abundant life. But this abundant life is not synonymous with more wealth, food, power, or things. Jesus warned in Luke 12:15, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Because greed is sinful, it steals and destroys life it must be repented from. Cast out the demon responsible for it and submit to the Holy Spirit who will empower us to live righteous lives full of generosity and gratitude.

Meditate on these scriptures and use them in prayers before we meet at 11:55pm:

Proverbs 1:19, 21:25-26, Jude 11; Proverbs 15:27; Isaiah 56:10-11; 2 Kings 5:27; 1John 3:17; 1 Timothy 6:16-17; Ephesians 5:3-4

Day 11 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-11/ Sun, 11 Apr 2021 22:22:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=139 What is referred to as STRONGHOLDS are negative or false conditions or patterns which we create in our mind, and having held on to them for long inside our mind they become firmly rooted. The Bible teaches us to cast such strongholds down. A good example is PRIDE!

Pride is a feeling of superiority over others. There’s “good” and “bad” pride. In a good sense, pride is having a sense of self-respect, being proud of your accomplishments and such like. But, pride becomes bad when you or your family/friends suffer because you don’t want to help them; using pride to put others down or measuring your achievements against someone else vs. your own previous performances.

Signs You Are Prideful:

  1. You think you are humble
  2. You do not accept constructive criticisms
  3. You always want to be center of attention
  4. You are vain about your physical appearance
  5. You do not like associating with the “ordinary” or unpopular.
  6. You are fond of names dropping.
  7. You are not teachable
  8. You do not listen to others’ advice.
  9. You do not like to be surpassed by anyone.
  10. You think you are too important to do mundane things.
  11. You are critical to those who do better than you.

To overcome pride, or better still, to prevent pride from overcoming you, you must check your motives daily. God knows your heart, therefore evaluate your heart against the Word of God.

But because there’s a spirit behind pride, in addition to intentionally doing the opposite of the points listed above, we must cast down  the spirit of pride because it is rebellion against God and His Word.

Meditate on these Bible passages before we meet tonight:

Proverbs 11:2; 16:18-19; 21:4; Luke 14: 7-11; Luke 18:9-14.

Day 10 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-10/ Sat, 10 Apr 2021 22:21:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=137 Regret is a feeling of sadness, repentance or disappointment over (something that has happened or been done, especially a loss or missed opportunity). Regret empowers Satan to get inside the victim mentally (2 Corinthians 10:3-5), keeping people under it’s captivity joyless, sad and miserable. That is not the abundant life that Christ died to give you!

I love what my Business Coach, Frida Owinga  says about regret:

“The past can be a great teacher and a horrible master. Past mistakes and successes carry only lessons. Everything else in them can only get better.

Mistakes are lessons that can aid a better future. They cannot be undone and should not be repeated.

Success is a clue of potential and can be tapped to increase more success.

Look forward because our nature is progression. We are born as babies and we grow. A seed makes a forest. Abundance is our birth right if you can only look around you and pay attention and take action abundance will happen.

Regret and pity drain you of creativity energy. Resist it!”

Here’s what the Bible teaches about the past and the right attitude:

““Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Apostle Paul shares his approach towards his past:

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Also meditate on:

Ecclesiastes 3:11; 1Corinthians 2:9-10; Romans 12:2;

Romans 5:2-5; Revelation 22:12

Allow the light of these Words of God to transform your mind, (Romans 12:2 AMP) become hopeful and start reaching forth to things ahead of you.

Day 9 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-9/ Fri, 09 Apr 2021 22:19:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=135 Today we are casting down the stronghold of Anxiety & Worry so as to unlock abundant life.

Anxiety and worries result from uncertainty which essentially is distrust with the plan of God. The possible causes of anxiety and fear are many: conflict, health problems, dangerous situations, death, unmet needs, spiritual problems, false beliefs, etc. Although , there is nothing wrong with realistically acknowledging and trying to deal with the identifiable problems of life but it is wrong, as well as unhealthy, to be immobilized by excessive worry.

The Bible is very clear on how to handle our worries and anxieties:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

Also meditate on 1 Peter 5:6-7; Proverbs 12:25; Psalms 34:4; Luke 10:40-42; Psalm 55:22-23

Therefore, in prayer, all the truth of God’s Word to exterminate anxiety and worry out of your life. You don’t need them if you really want abundant life!

Day 8 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-8/ Thu, 08 Apr 2021 22:17:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=133 Today we are breaking the STRONGHOLD OF FEAR in order to unlock our abundance.

FEAR is an emotion that God programmed into all animals and people. There’s good fear and a tormenting fear. To fear God is good because it refers to a sense of reverence, awe and submission to God.

But, the Bible teaches that fear is a spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7. This kind of fear is tormenting. It paralyses the victim’s ability to reason logically or function normally.

The spirit of fear is one of the first and foremost door openers to other demonic spirits. The spirit of fear is NOT from our Heavenly Father. It keeps its victims from fulfilling destiny, from living a joyful life or experiencing abundance.

How do you overcome the spirit of fear?

  1. Pay attention to your thoughts, what you read, watch and listen to. Proverbs 23:7; Proverbs 4:23
  2. Pay attention to the company that you keep.
  3. Take all thoughts captive and start meditating and confessing the Word of God. Understand that you can create your reality by what you say. 2 Corinthians 10:5; Phillipians 4:8
  4. Face your fear- the choice is yours. Galatians 5:1; Isaiah 10:27;
  5. Focus on Christ and His finished work on the cross, rather than your fear. Luke 10:19; Colossians 2:8-15
  6. Get help.

Before we meet tonight, 11:55pm EST, prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to reveal al your fears to you. Start knocking off this stronghold with the Word of God. Remember, if you say to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Day 7 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-7/ Wed, 07 Apr 2021 22:15:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=131 Because stronghold is part of warfare terminology, from the standpoint of Ephesians 6: 10-13, we must understand that Satan and his cohorts must have a  foothold in order to establish a stronghold in our souls in order to afflict us.

Unforgiveness, bitterness (long held unforgiveness) and resentment gives Satan a foothold in our thought life which empowers him to make further advances into his target’s thought processes and actions. The behavior that typically follows is sinful disobedience of Christ’s instruction and example of forgiveness.

Hanging onto bitterness is self destructive and poisons the soul. It is a violation of love. It is rebellion against Jesus’ instructions to His followers. It inhibits prosperity and or abundance.

Breaking the stronghold of unforgiveness and bitterness is to acknowledge these behaviors as sinful, repent of them and consciously replace these sinful thoughts with the word of God. Unforgiveness and bitterness are spiritual filthiness, so get washed in the water of God’s Word to forgive and stay clean.

Read and pray with these Bible passages:

Ephesians 4:26-27; Matthew 18:23-35; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Hebrews 12:15; I Corinthians 13:5; 2 Corinthians 2: 10-11; Matthew 6:12, 14-15; Mark 11:22-26

Day 6 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-6/ Tue, 06 Apr 2021 22:13:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=129 Another hindrance to ABUNDANCE are Strongholds.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Strongholds are attitudes and ways of thinking that have been accepted and operated under for years. Strongholds are based on demonic forces, faulty understanding, or ignorance. They are actually thought processes that make people feel this is the way things will always be. These influences become strong over a period of time, hence the term stronghold.

Strongholds can operate in individuals and cover peoples, groups, or cities that have a common collective consciousness on a particular matter. A spirit of poverty in an area, for example, frequently stays in that area. Government programs don’t change it. People being delivered from poverty have certain strongholds in their mind, such as the victim mentality that says, “somebody owes me something. I would be this, but I am stuck being that.” There is a certain process that causes them to believe that. The person held in that mentality or behind that wall is in a stronghold. The stronghold holds the person.

Strongholds are referred to as such because they are not the easiest to break. Breaking them takes some disassembling and some attacking. Stronghold is part of warfare terminology.

In the next several days, we’ll be engaging in some fierce warfare, attacking and disassembling your personally identified strongholds – these are attitudes that have limited us in the past from experiencing abundance.

Read also these Bible passages:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” – ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” – ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭23:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

And,

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-13‬ ‭

and thereafter take time to:

~ Think deeply about your attitudes and mindsets

~ Are they consistently positive or negative?

~ What are you willing to do about them based on the insights provided here?

It is time to free yourself from debilitating thoughts. . .

Join us tonight as we war against strongholds that have not allowed us to enjoy our God given abundant life.

Day 5 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-5/ Mon, 05 Apr 2021 22:12:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=127 Tonight, God is directing our attention to our heart circumcision.

The token of the covenant which God cut with Abraham is the circumcision of all his male children and descendants. He obeyed. Genesis 17:1-10. That covenant was annulled with the arrival of Christ, He became the mediator of the new covenant by His blood. 1 Corinthians 11:25

Paul in Romans 2:25-29; 9:6 made clarifications which are very crucial to our eligibility for abundance.

Read these passages and allow the Spirit of God minister to you on what you need to do in order to unlock your abundance.

We are praying in 4 minutes. Pls join me. . . It’s a challenge and we all must be victorious!

Day 4 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/day-4/ Sun, 04 Apr 2021 22:09:00 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=125 Scriptures remind us that the contents of the Bible are written for our guidance as examples, correction, direction and instruction in righteousness etc

Who is a good Biblical example of a man of abundance? Abraham definitely. Read Genesis 24:1

What was the basis of his unusual trans generational blessings? Could his covenant relationship with God be the explanation?

Are you in covenant relationship with God?

What is a covenant? What are the terms of a covenant relationship?

Read these passages, meditate upon them and allow the Holy Spirit stir up your heart to pray before we meet tonight. . .
