Spirituality – Woman of Substance International https://iamawomanofsubstance.org Tue, 30 Sep 2025 20:14:11 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 The Last Day https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/the-last-day/ Tue, 30 Sep 2025 20:01:16 +0000 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=611 I was in prayer, meditating on the fact that today is the last day of the month of September, gratefully pondering on many significant events in the course of the month, and anticipating the possibilities of the month of October. Then, the Holy Spirit quietly dropped this Bible passage in my spirit.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What jumped out at me was “On the last day.” I did a little bit of research and below is the summary of my research outcomes.

The Contextual Meaning of the Last Day.

  • The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot):
    • The “last day” refers to the climactic conclusion of the Feast of Tabernacles, a 7-day Jewish festival (with an additional solemn 8th day).
    • Each day, priests drew water from the Pool of Siloam and poured it at the altar, symbolizing God’s provision of water in the wilderness (Ex. 17:6).
    • On the last and greatest day, the ritual was most elaborate and joyful, anticipating the Messiah’s outpouring of God’s Spirit.
  • Jesus’ Declaration:
    • Against this backdrop, Jesus cried out: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”
    • He was pointing to Himself as the true Source of living water—not just ritual but reality.

The Spiritual Meaning

  • The Last Day as Fulfillment:
    • Spiritually, “the last day” points to the climax of human longing, the end of striving, and the moment of divine fulfillment in Christ.
    • It symbolizes the shift from religious ritual to relationship and revelation through the Holy Spirit.
  • Thirst & Fulfillment:
    • Thirst = human emptiness, longing, or dissatisfaction.
    • Drink = receiving Christ, yielding to His Spirit.
    • Rivers of living water = continuous overflow of the Spirit that transforms both the believer and those around them.
  • The Spirit’s Outpouring:
    • Verse 39 explains that this pointed to the coming of the Holy Spirit, which was not yet given because Jesus had not been glorified.
    • The “last day” spiritually symbolizes a turning point—from waiting to receiving, from dryness to rivers, from promise to fulfillment.

Applying the Lesson

Reflect on the following:

  1. Personal Thirst:
    • What areas of my life feel dry or empty right now?
    • Where am I seeking fulfillment outside of Christ?
  2. Coming to Jesus:
    • In what practical ways can I “come” to Him daily (prayer, Word, surrender)?
    • What does “drinking” look like in my current season?
  3. Overflowing Life:
    • How is the Holy Spirit flowing through me to others?
    • Am I a container or a channel of God’s living water?
    • What needs to shift in my mindset so I don’t just receive but also release?

Action Steps:

  • Identify your thirst → journal one area of emptiness.
  • Respond to the invitation → create a daily practice of sitting before God with open hands (silence, prayer, or worship).
  • Release rivers → commit one action this week that allows God’s Spirit to flow through you into someone else’s life (encouragement, service, witness).

In the referenced passage, Jesus stood and cried out:

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

—John 7:37–38 (NKJV)

The challenge before us is this:

  • Are you truly thirsty?
  • Do you long for more of Him, or have you settled as though you are already full?
  • Do you believe—fully—in His person, His Word, His vision, and His passion?

If you are thirsty and you believe, you will come to Him, drink deeply, and remain until His anointing overflows from your life.

God is calling believers into a closer, deeper walk with Him. The question is: Are you willing?

The Hand of the Lord is the Hand of Power https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/the-hand-of-the-lord-is-the-hand-of-power/ Wed, 24 Sep 2025 12:31:28 +0000 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=608 Introduction

The Bible frequently speaks of the hand of the Lord as a symbol of His presence, power, and authority. Unlike human hands, the hand of the Lord represents divine intervention, supernatural enablement, and sovereign authority that no force can resist.
When God stretches forth His hand, things shift — destinies change, enemies are subdued, and His purposes are established.

  1. What Does the Hand of the Lord Represent?
    1. Power & Might
      • Ezekiel 1:3 – “The hand of the Lord was there upon him…” → Divine empowerment for prophetic ministry.
      • God’s hand equips His servants with supernatural strength to accomplish what is humanly impossible.
    2. Presence & Guidance
      • The hand of the Lord symbolizes His nearness, direction, and favor.
      • Psalm 139:10 – “Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”
    3. Judgment & Deliverance
      • The same hand that delivers His people also brings judgment on His enemies.
      • Exodus 7:5 – God’s hand brought plagues on Egypt, but deliverance for Israel.
  2. Scriptural Portraits of the Hand of the Lord’s Power
    1. Prophetic Empowerment (Ezekiel 1:3; 3:14, 22)
      • The hand of the Lord enabled Ezekiel to see divine visions and stand in boldness as God’s mouthpiece.
      • Lesson: God’s hand empowers us for our divine assignments.
    2. Supernatural Victory (1 Kings 18:46)
      • “The hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab…”
      • Natural limitations were broken by divine empowerment.
      • Lesson: The hand of God turns weakness into strength and gives speed for destiny fulfillment.
    3. Resurrection & Exaltation of Christ (Acts 2:32–36)
      • By the hand (power) of God, Jesus was raised from the dead and exalted as both Lord and Christ.
      • Lesson: The ultimate demonstration of God’s hand is in Christ’s resurrection power working in us.
    4. Fruitfulness & Blessing (Psalm 118:16; 128:1–2)
      • “The right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.”
      • God’s hand brings prosperity, protection, and flourishing to His people.
  3. Dimensions of the Hand of the Lord
    1. The Strong Hand – Victory over enemies (Exodus 13:9).
    2. The Guiding Hand – Direction in life (Isaiah 41:10).
    3. The Lifting Hand – Restoration and elevation (Psalm 37:24).
    4. The Healing Hand – Deliverance from affliction (Mark 1:31).
    5. The Empowering Hand – Spiritual boldness and miracles (Acts 11:21).
  4. How Believers Experience the Hand of the Lord Today
    • Through Prayer & Worship (Acts 4:30) – “Stretch forth thy hand to heal…”
    • Through the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12) – The Word carries the weight of His hand.
    • Through the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:21) – The Spirit manifests the hand of the Lord in power.
    • Through Consecration – Like Elijah, we must align ourselves with God to experience His mighty hand.
  5. Practical Applications
    • When you feel weak → Ask for the empowering hand of the Lord.
    • When facing enemies/opposition → Trust the strong hand of the Lord for victory.
    • When lost/confused → Lean on the guiding hand of the Lord.
    • When downcast → Believe in the lifting hand of the Lord.
    • When praying for others → Stretch your hand in faith, knowing His hand works through you.

Conclusion

The hand of the Lord is not figurative poetry — it is real divine power at work in human affairs. Whether for deliverance, guidance, blessing, or empowerment, God’s hand is mighty and outstretched to His children.
As we yield to Him in obedience and faith, we can boldly declare:

“The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.” (Psalm 118:16)

Special Invitation: The Threshing Floor https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/special-invitation-the-threshing-floor/ Thu, 18 Nov 2021 08:15:41 +0000 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=238 At the THRESHING FLOOR:

  • We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons.
  • We knock down the strongholds of human reasoning  to destroy false arguments.
  • We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God.
  • We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
  • And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, being ready to punish every act of disobedience, when your own obedience [as a church] is complete.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In the scripture, the threshing floor is a place of separation and revelation. A place where the harvest was prepared by separating the grain from the useless straw for the purpose of exposing and collecting the most valuable part of the crop.

These are some of the reasons you must make The Threshing Floor your constant!

Join other praying women EVERY SATURDAY MORNING (6:00 am EST) to tear down satanic strongholds in our lives, families and communities. . .

God is asking you to meet Him at the Threshing Floor so He can reveal to you THE TEMPLATE of your destiny!

Time is Life https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/time-is-life/ Sat, 14 Aug 2021 01:42:13 +0000 https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=209

“Time is used to buy life. Whatever you are, you spent your time buying it. Whatever you invest your time in, you become.”

Dr. Myles Munroe

By March 2020, the world population was estimated to have reached 7.8 billion. Despite the large number, humans are diverse in nature – physical appearance, social status, economic and political idiosyncrasies, accomplishments, interests etcetera. The only common commodity given to all humans is TIME!. Whether young or old, small or big, rich or poor, white, green or brown skin color, we all are given the same amount of time.

Time is a gift from your Maker. It is a piece of eternity; a limited period during which an action takes place. Life is the passing of time, therefore, time is life.

Time can be a blessing as well as a curse. It depends on how you use it. Time has a beginning and an ending. You cannot prolong, slow down or hold time. But time can either be managed, used, invested or converted. You can convert your time to build, develop or construct things. Attending this conference could be your starting point, join us.

Click here to learn more about the conference and register.

Time can be abused. Like money, time can be squandered or lost. Time is more important than money. It can be devalued or depreciated. You can add value to your life or devalue it by how you spend your time, who you spend your time with and where you spend your time.

God does not live in time but He gave us time to live purposefully.

“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭AMP‬‬

So, the question is: Who have you been spending your time with?  Where and how have you been spending your time? If you have been spending it well – managing, converting and investing it to pursue your divine purpose, good for you! If, on the other hand, you suddenly become aware that you have not made a good investment of your gift of time, it is not too late. You can redeem your time. How?

Reclaim, repossess, start converting your time to value. It’s time you start to pay your outstanding debt which you owe yourself and your Maker!. Take ownership of your time, start to design your day to create value in your life. Double your efforts because your given time is very limited.

If you are struggling identifying your purpose, a good investment of your time will be to reach out for help. I delight in helping people unveil their hidden treasures, maximise their potentials so you can start to live life of impact. I am offering you a 30 minutes free exploratory session to start unpacking what is holding you stuck.

“TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:”  ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

The Theology Of Productivity https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/the-theology-of-productivity/ https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/the-theology-of-productivity/#comments Wed, 16 Sep 2020 06:51:39 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=65 At church yesterday, during Sunday School, our teacher made reference to an article which he later shared with me. The article describes what is now known as “The Rule of Awkward Silence”. When faced with a challenging question, instead of answering immediately, the rule allows you to pause and think deeply about how you want to answer. The rule is also being embraced at business meetings where at the start of a meeting, participants take like 30 minutes to read printed memos in silence without interruption before making comments. It is claimed that the rule is being adopted by valuable business owners like Tim Cook and Jeff Bezos and they have reportedly given positive feedback.

I found the article fascinating because it collaborates how science is increasingly tracing many of their inventions or discoveries to the Bible.

The Rule of Awkward Silence is stated in James 1:19

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When business owners set goals for production or plans expansion into new markets, they are simply imitating an industrious God who created a complex and fruitful world. He started a farm, Eden Inc., put man on that farm and told him to work, be industrious and expand the enterprise globally. That is what Genesis 1:28 is about:

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The primary word which the Bible uses to define productivity is fruitfulness. The Bible will often describe a productive person as someone who bears fruit.

Fruitfulness or productivity is important, and it starts with God.

“Ephraim shall say, ‘What have I to do anymore with idols?’ I have heard and observed him. I am like a green cypress tree; Your fruit is found in Me.”

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭14:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A Heart Of Worship https://iamawomanofsubstance.org/a-heart-of-worship/ Thu, 27 Aug 2020 03:14:39 +0000 http://iamawomanofsubstance.org/?p=28 Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Oh, how I love Jesus
Because, He first loved me

By Hannah Oyebanjo.

A heart of worship is a gracious heart that understands the depth of God and His infinite purpose for creation. It’s a heart absolutely sold outto God without any consideration whatsoever for physical circumstances and conditions. A heart of worship defies sex, status, prestige etc. as both the seemingly poor and the rich can display this treasure. Man was created to worship. Show me a worshiper and I will show you the in-dwelling tabernacle of Jehovah God!

A heart of worship sees God at work in every and all instances. Doubts and fears may surround, but a heart of worship blazes through them all, bursting into ecstatic magnification of ‘The One Whose Name is Love’.

The heart of worship is enmeshed in praise, enwrapped in thanksgiving. This heart bows and trembles always, before the Lord and Maker when and when not in need. It’s a lifestyle, a default programming for Worship. Free flow of worshippers’ tears, arms raised in the beauty of holiness, knees bowed to the soon-coming King, crowns cast to the Ruler of the universe Who never makes mistakes and Who is never too late in all endeavors.

A heart of worship sees the full hand of God in all circumstances. God will show up and surely, He does. Should He choose not to show in His ultimate wisdom, worship is ceaseless!

The pathway of the Heart of Worship permeates the physical to outer and stronger realms where God is enthroned. This is where He divinely channels and directs all affairs of life without questioning. The heart of worship crowns Him Who reigns over and over, for the more of Him he crowns, the more of Him he discovers to yet be crowned!

Endless praise of Jesus the Son of the Living God is the flow from a heart of worship. This action transcends the visible and the known. For this reason of mortal incomprehensibility, some unwise people think such display and outlandish lavish of love is uncalled for. Alas! who is wise, but the possessor of A Heart of Worship?

And so, she had long thought about His sincere care and love. What manner of love and man is this she long considered? What shall I render and what can I possibly do to show a little of my gratitude ‘she mused’. An unscripted idea warmed up her tender heart. This would seem crazy to men but then who cares? Where were ‘men’ in the darkest point of my life ‘she whispered’. And so, she washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair! What glory have I than in Him? Who could have helped to clean all my mess other than Him, whose blood was shed for a renewed me ‘she muttered’. Transformed, translated and equipped to reign with Him someday in an exquisite estate, prepared by Him whose name is more than beautiful, whose glory is un-searchable. A pure Heart of Worship. Everything else on this side of eternity will be corrupted. They will fizzle out like vapour, but A heart of Worship is eternal. It is the golden chariot of great grace upon which the wise rides to experience His in-explainable splendor. All things may fail, but a heart of worship never fails.

Oh Lord, we pray that you endow us with this pure, selfless and immortal heart of worship, flowing from our redeemed souls, daily touching the very throne of Your Majesty, provoking Your release of greater grace for the race of life we run. Amen
