Another hindrance to ABUNDANCE are Strongholds.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Strongholds are attitudes and ways of thinking that have been accepted and operated under for years. Strongholds are based on demonic forces, faulty understanding, or ignorance. They are actually thought processes that make people feel this is the way things will always be. These influences become strong over a period of time, hence the term stronghold.

Strongholds can operate in individuals and cover peoples, groups, or cities that have a common collective consciousness on a particular matter. A spirit of poverty in an area, for example, frequently stays in that area. Government programs don’t change it. People being delivered from poverty have certain strongholds in their mind, such as the victim mentality that says, “somebody owes me something. I would be this, but I am stuck being that.” There is a certain process that causes them to believe that. The person held in that mentality or behind that wall is in a stronghold. The stronghold holds the person.

Strongholds are referred to as such because they are not the easiest to break. Breaking them takes some disassembling and some attacking. Stronghold is part of warfare terminology.

In the next several days, we’ll be engaging in some fierce warfare, attacking and disassembling your personally identified strongholds – these are attitudes that have limited us in the past from experiencing abundance.
