“The END of a matter is better than its BEGINNING…”

The Bible

If you’re like me, you are anxious to know the end of a story line whenever you’re watching a movie. Often, I ask my children, “So what happens next.?” As always, they’ll respond, “Mummywait till the end.” Most of the time, I don’t!

I like how the month-end always puts me in a reflective mode. I like the momentary feeling of a sense of accomplishment it gives me which provokes an excitement inside me that something new is on the horizon. As I reflected on THE END these past  few days, I still am, a certain scripture was imprinted upon my heart. In my reflection the following thoughts came to my heart:

  • What feels like an ending is often the beginning.
  • Sometimes the actual story starts the moment we think the story has ended.
  • Life is an endless journey of an end cascading into a new beginning.
  • Whatever we do in between an end and a beginning prepares us for the next new beginning.
  • Is there an end? Yes there is. . .
“For Christ is the end of the law [it leads to Him and its purpose is fulfilled in Him], for [granting] righteousness to everyone who believes [in Him as Savior].” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The greatest pursuit in life is purpose – your why. Why are you here? Purpose is tied to your identity and vice versa. Myles Monroe says it perfectly, “when purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable.” When you pursue a cause outside of yourself, there’s an endless joy and a sense of fulfillment that transcends material gains. If your identity is rooted in Christ, He will reveal your purpose to you. Once you know your purpose and you direct all your energy to fulfilling it, you stop searching. You are not easily distracted. You feel fulfilled.

In the scripture referenced above I highlighted Christ is the end to . . . . . . . because I want to encourage you to fill in the blanks. Make a list of habits you want to end in the month of May and  turn them over to Christ.
